Computer Science and Engineering

Learn how to create your own game software, your very own robot as well as develop web apps and install networks.

Extra curricular activities related to this course include S.T.E.A.M club which allows you to experiment and partake in the many events this club plans. You get to do this like make ice cream, grow pumpkins and you also get a cool t-shirt!

You may also sign up to be apart of a SHSM (Specialist High Skills Major) in Computer Science and Engineering which will appear on your high school diploma.

Construction

Learn how to read, create and interpret architectural drawings as well as create your own projects within the classroom as well as become familiar with the various construction materials, manual & power tools as well as various construction terms used within the industry.

Students can also gain knowledge and acquire the skills to create and produce designs using the CNC machine and Versa Laser printer.

One very important initiative that students can take part in within this classroom is the construction of the tiny homes along side Habitat for Humanity for the Chippewa of the Nawash Indigenous reserve to attempt to aid them in their housing crisis.

Tourism and Hospitality

Aquire, learn and harness the ability to cook and gain hands-on skills within the kitchen in regards to the proper use of various tools and equipment, meal planning, recipe costing, nutrition and customer service

Students will also expand their awareness in health and safety as well as environmental issues.

Learn where your food comes from and the various sustainable ways that your food can be grown as well as gain knowledge in plant identification and the various needs for each plant. You will also be able to learn about the FarmBot.

Students will also expand their awareness in the various careers that are offered under the horticulture umbrella. you will also become further aware of the food sustainability and distribution issue that we currently face.

Learn various welding techniques as well as create small, fun projects as assignments to practice. You will also learn about eh various types of equipment and all the safety that is required for safe operation.

There is a connected extra curricular activity connected to this course which is, E-Car which is where students from the automotive class and this class can work on and build a car.
